7-Simple-Tips-to-Wake-Up-Pretty-Everyday

As much as we all wish we could open our eyes after a long nights sleep, to look in the mirror at a flawless, puffy free appearance, the reality is, that isn’t reality. Let’s be real, okay well, I’ll go first, it takes a little effort, which means, avoiding the urge to hit the snooze button, and jumping out of bed early instead of 10 minutes late, which for me has kind of become a morning trend due to working late nights, and also, being a bit lazy in maintenance. So, what’s a gal to do, without having to do too much? Well, it’s all about prepping the night before, and adding these 7 simple tips to your beauty routine, to nix the zombie face, and wake up pretty everyday.

Clean your face

I know it seems like a no brainer, but according to New York City makeup artist  Emily Kate Warren in an article of Good Housekeeping “So many people sleep with their makeup on and wonder why they wake up with funky eye gunk in the morning,”. Not to mention, sleeping with a caked up face, could cause breakouts, and overall it’s just gross. Use a soap free, pH balanced face soap like this, or do what I do, and slather your face in coconut oil, and wipe off with a warm wet rag. It removes dirt and makeup, and leaves your face silky smooth after. A must, in order to wake up pretty everyday.

Moisture Mania

Probably one of the most important of the 7 simple tips to wake up pretty everyday is this one. In order to wake up looking fresh and dewy, you need to make sure to use an anti-aging night cream containing hyaluronic acid, like this one. It attracts water into the skin, which helps smooth wrinkles. Try a bit of vitamin e oil beneath the cream, for extra moisture absorption. Adding moisture to the skin, “These products work better during the “repair cycle of the skin,” which is at night, she says”.- {via}

Sleep pretty on satin or silk

It’s time to channel your inner princess and rest your head on a silk or satin pillowcase in order to wake up pretty everyday. It’s definitely better for your hair, and skin than cotton. “Changing to Satin Pillowcases to Reduce Friction on the Face while Sleeping – Persistently pressing our faces into a pillow causes trauma to the skin. Over time, this trauma, aggravated by the friction of a cotton pillowcase, can create permanent creases as our collagen breaks down.” {via}

Moisturize Lips

You just can’t have simple tips to wake up pretty everyday and leave out the lips. It’s a ritual of mine to exfoliate, or brush my lips at night before bed so that they remain soft and smooth. I’m a big fan of this lip scrub (plus the big red lip packaging is adorable). But I’m also a lover of good ol’ coconut oil, or almond oil. You’ll wake up pretty, and kissable.

Avoid salty nibbles and alcohol

Um, the opposite of wake up pretty, is to wake up puffy and swollen, so definitely avoid consuming any foods high in salt, and as much as I love a good cocktail, alcohol is a nemesis of fresh and pretty. “When you consume a lot of alcohol, your body becomes dehydrated,” says Dr. Fusco. “To compensate, it starts collecting natural fluids around the eyes, among other places.” A similar thing happens with salt, leading to that dreaded puffy-eye look”. -{via}

Pull hair Up Into a Pineapple or Light bun

You can’t wake up pretty with your hair in a matted mess. If your hair is natural or curly, pulling your hair into a high, loose ponytail a.k.a. a pineapple, is the best way to protect your curls overnight. I tend to wear pineapples often, and or a very loose bun. Falling asleep with your hair this way will allow you to wake up looking gorgeously together, especially if you’re resting on the satin pillowcase.

Humidify and Hydrate While You Sleep

Using a humidifier while you sleep helps to trap moisture back into your skin. You have no choice but to wake up pretty everyday if you’re sleeping with a humidifier on in your bedroom. Because your skin will be moisturized, scars and wrinkles will be softened and less visible. It’s like having magic moisture fairies, floating around and hydrating and kissing your skin, so that you wake up with a healthy glow! I like this one!
